Description:
The Nevaton MC 48 is the excellent choice as a main microphone for orchestras and smaller ensembles but can be also used to record ambient soundscapes, pop concerts, talkshows or single instruments. It is suitable for most general purpose applications in studios, for broadcasting, film and television.
Acoustic features
The MC 48 has a revealing, natural and clean sound, delivering transparent trebles, clear midrange and natural bass. It gives very high definition without adding any coloration. The MC 48 offers a flat frequency response and a very low self-noise level of less then 12 dB-A. The sound pressure handling capability is extended to 135 dB.
Construction
The mic has two large 25-mm diaphragms, placed one above the other, who`s angles can be simultaneously adjusted giving the possibility of a variable stereo width from 50° up to a maximum of 140°. The ultra-thin and gold-coated diaphragms of the MC 48 gives the mic its brilliant and transparent sound which it is famous for. All components of the capsulas have passed a special artificial ageing process to guarantee the stability of their parameters. The internal construction is elastically mounted to attenuate vibrational and handling noise. A gold-plated 5-pin XLR-connector is used as an output-connector.
Electrical features
The amplifier is built to the class-A transformerless standard. All used input transistors pass a special selection to guarantee minimal self-noise. The mic has a steep high-pass filter to avoid unwanted interfearance through subsonic frequencies. The MC 48 operates on 48V phantom power.
Operational safety
The microphone`s body is made of brass with a dark-grey non-reflective paint finish on an epoxy base. This makes it inherently immune to mechanical and atmospheric influences. A three-layer metallic grill effectively protects the transducers from mechanical impacts and influences. The transducer's head is mounted on an elastic suspension to cut off vibrational and handling noise. Operational flexibility and durability make it also suitable for off-studio applications.
The microphone is supplied in a fine wooden box. A break-out cable( 5-pin to 2x 3-pin) is also part of the set.
